Lionel Messi Waxwork At Barcelona Museum Looks Absolutely Nothing Like Him

Lionel Messi's replica at the Barcelona Wax Museum has been unveiled and the verdict is that it looks alarmingly unlike Leo Messi.
Which is, let's face it, its only job. You'd think if any city in the world would know Messi's face off by heart, it'd be Barcelona. But no.
The pose is familiar - fingers pointing to the sky in celebration - as is the shirt. But the face is not.

Fans have been speculating as to which footballer it actually looks like, with everyone from Jan Oblak to Aaron Ramsey to Miralem Pjanic suggested. But no one is saying it looks much like Messi.
We personally like to believe that Barcelona Wax Museum actually had an appointment scheduled with the 33-year-old to have a really accurate rendering done. But Messi was all: "No, yeah, I've got to take this call from Neymar...".
So instead they just got Steve from accounts to sit down and model for them. I mean, why not? Do people visiting Barcelona even know what Messi looks like? Possibly not.

Some people have criticised the waxwork for its cold, dead eyes. But that's unfair as it's pretty common to all waxworks.
Plus this Messi effort is still better than that infamous airport bust of Cristiano Ronaldo, which was later replaced.
We've yet to see how long this alleged Messi replica survives, especially if he does actually leave Barcelona next summer thus possibly spoiling the exhibit altogether.
Our recommendation: just stick an Atletico Madrid goalkeeper shirt on it, tell visitors its a miniature Oblak and nobody will be any the wiser. Problem solved.
