Leicester City Player Confirms Transfer On Social Media Before Deleting Tweets

£25 million move is strongly hinted before the tweets disappeared.

A Leicester City star has apparently leaked a transfer via social media before rapidly deleting his tweets.

Defender Wesley Fofana responded to a tweet linking the club with Boubakary Soumare - his fellow France Under-21 international - with several happy faces and an egg timer emoji, suggesting the deal was imminent.

Reacting to another tweet, from journalist Fabrizio Romano, claiming Leicester's deal to sign Soumare from Lille for around £25 million was confirmed, Fofana wrote: "You are the expert!! If you say so I believe it."

However the 20-year-old centre-back quickly backtracked and deleted the tweets, indicating he perhaps gave away something he shouldn't have.

Midfielder Soumare has been one of the stars of Lille's incredible season that has them on the verge of winning the Ligue 1 title ahead of Paris Saint-Germain. The player has previously been linked to Manchester United.

Everton and Aston Villa have also reportedly been interested but - if we believe Fofana's hints - Soumare is on his way to the King Power Stadium.

Fofana, who signed for Leicester from Saint-Etienne for £36.5 million last summer, has had a largely positive first season at the club (albeit the Foxes' form has wobbled badly in recent weeks).

He hit the headlines in April when he thanked Crystal Palace for letting him break his Ramadan fast in the middle of an evening kick-off, which was one of the heart-warming stories of this Premier League season.

Now Fofana is - apparently - breaking transfer news as well. Is there nothing the young centre-back cannot do?
