A video comparing Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in their first games back has shown there is a massive difference between the pair.

Ronaldo returned to action on Friday night in Juventus' Coppa Italia semi-final second leg clash with AC Milan.

Juve did advance after a 0-0 draw but it was a night to forget for the 35-year-old who had a penalty saved.

Meanwhile, Messi returned on Saturday with two assists and a goal as Barcelona thumped Mallorca 4-0.

Ronaldo did treat fans to a lovely rabona in the second half but he wasn't up to his usual standards.

He usually carries the reputation of producing in the biggest games and his numerous missed chances were out of character.

Leonardo Bonucci defended Ronaldo's penalty miss following the game told Rai Sport per Goal:

"Even the greatest miss. Cristiano is always important for us.

"He increases the pressure on opponents' defenders.

"He was unfortunate today and [Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi] Donnarumma did well. We'll see a great Juventus and a great Ronaldo again."

The Portuguese superstar will have the chance to add another trophy to his collection on Wednesday when Juventus take on Napoli in the Coppa Italia final.

Maurizio Sarri's side resume their Serie A campaign on June 22 when they take on Bologna.

Over in Spain the following evening, Messi provided assists for Martin Braithwaite and Jordi Alba before finding the net himself in injury time.

Barcelona top of La Liga and are looking to win their third title in a row.

Seeing two of the greatest of all-time finally return to the pitch after a long hiatus is something any fan will be excited about.
