David Beckham spent two stints of his career training with Arsenal's first team and it's something most football fans won't remember.

Beckham's is best known for his time at Manchester United where he was part of the famous treble winners of 1999.

However, later in his career, he would return to England with one of United's biggest rivals at the time Arsenal.

The first time Beckham trained with the Gunners came in 2008 during the MLS off-season.

Former England captain Beckham was playing for American side LA Galaxy at the time and needed to keep match fitness.

Despite only signing for LA Galaxy the previous July, it didn't stop Arsenal fans and the media alike asking if Beckham could join the North London outfit.

"He is working to be fit (in readiness for) when he is moving (back) to Los Angeles in February, so now, in January, we are giving him assistance with his fitness," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said per Metro.

However, when asked if he was tempted to sign Beckham during the transfer window, Wenger said simply: 'No.'

Beckham did return to LA Galaxy later in the winter and that was likely the end of his time at Arsenal.

However, he would pop up at the club's training ground again in 2013 towards the end of his career.

Beckham was 37 at the time and was without a club after leaving LA Galaxy at the end of the MLS season.

"He called me," Wenger said per The Guardian. "He has asked to come here and to work on his fitness. He has not done anything for a long, long time. [It's] purely for fitness. There's no speculation about signing or anything."

Seeing Beckham train with this Arsenal side had fans dreaming of the on-pitch combinations.

He and Santi Cazorla likely could have conjured up some magic while young prodigy Jack Wilshere would have learnt a vast array of skills.

Beckham's three sons have also been involved with Arsenal having represented the club at youth level.

The former United winger would go on to sign for French side Paris Saint-Germain at the end of January which is where he finished his career.

Beckham donated his entire salary from his time in the French capital to a local charity in one of football's classiest moves.
