Lionel Messi has reportedly bought a £7.25 million apartment in Miami - but will remain with Barcelona until 2023 before making a move.

The Argentine superstar's contract with the Blaugrana is up in the summer and he's yet to publicly lay out his future plans.

But per Daily Mail, Spanish publication Cadena SER say Messi has already decided to stay with Barcelona until 2023 before moving Stateside to retire.

The apartment is located in the Porsche Design Tower on the Sunny Isles and was purchased a year and a half ago.

Messi is said to be keen to see his children attend high school in the USA before going on to university.

Playing in America is something that interests the 33-year-old and he told La Sexta: "My plan is to give all I can for the club at the moment.

"I would like to play in the United States and experience life and the league there, but ultimately come back to Barcelona in some capacity.

"I'm not thinking too far ahead in the short term and just want to see how the season finishes."

One team Messi could eventually line up for is David Beckham's Inter Miami.

Beckham hasn't been shy in discussing marquee signings for his new franchise and one MLS coach thinks he has the power to draw Messi and longtime rival Cristiano Ronaldo.

"That would be incredible for football in the USA and if anyone has the global profile to make that dream a reality then it has to be David Beckham," Minnesota United coach Adrian Heath told The Mirror.

"It may not happen just yet, but I can see Ronaldo following in the footsteps of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard playing in the MLS.

"For Ronaldo and Messi, the two obvious destinations if they came to the MLS would be Los Angeles and Miami.

"And, with his links to both players and the plan Beckham and his backers have in place, I can really only see them going to Miami."
