Patrice Evra has posted a hilarious message to former Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo - alongside the famous 'boner' training clip.

The pair played together between 2006 and 2009, winning three Premier Leagues as well as a Champions League title.

Evra took to Instagram to remind fans their accomplishments at Old Trafford, while joking some trained 'too hard.'

He stated: "When we used to win too many trophies. some players were train too hard. bro @cristiano next time we talk please don't get distracted obrigado #ilovethisgame #positive4evra #manchesterunited #forevrared #portugal"

The viral clip has never been addressed or explained by anyone involved but Ronaldo's reaction has become a popular meme.

His United career came to an end when he joined Real Madrid for a then world record fee of £80 million.

It was a move to Spain that truly ignited his rivalry with Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.

Evra's fondness for 'CR7' didn't fade and to this day he still thinks he's the better player compared to Messi.

The Frenchman told Monday Night Football last season: "He was the one that if we had training at 10, he would be there at 8.

"He was the last to leave the training ground, practicing his skill.

"That's why, when we compare him to Messi, I always choose Cristiano and people say it's just because he's my friend.

"I just think Messi, it's just a gift, it's talent. God said, 'Go on, go and play with those kids.'

"But Cristiano worked so hard. He's a machine.

"He doesn't want to lose anything. He even wants to be the most beautiful guy, he wants to be the one that is dressing the best."

When Evra was asked if he was surprised by Ronaldo's success, the former left-back responded: "I'm not.

"I remember when we were talking with Cristiano when he won his first Ballon d'Or, he talked to me and said 'I have to win at least five,' and that's what he did, so I'm not surprised."

Ronaldo is currently starring for Juventus in Serie A and is the club's most important player at 35-years-old.

He has scored six goals in five appearances this season.
