The Premier League has had the pleasure of playing host to many wonderfully gifted Spanish footballers.

But the SPORTbible audience have voted Manchester City's David Silva as the greatest.

Silva, who has won four Premier League titles since moving to England in 2010, took a whopping 43 per cent of the votes thanks to his dazzling displays down the years.

A £24 million signing from Valencia, the playmaker took a while to really get going in the Premier League but Silva has won two FA Cups and five League Cups during his time with City.

In fact, he is talked about as one of the very best to grace the division.

The 34-year-old called time on his Premier League career this afternoon after ten years at the Etihad Stadium.

He started and was named captain against Norwich City as Pep Guardiola's side romped to a 5-0 victory.

Following the game, 'El Mago' paid tribute to the club and said their focus will now turn to winning the Champions League.

"I hope we can win the Champions League and this (empty stadium) is a pity because we cannot play with the people, but the safety of the people is the most important thing," he told Sky Sports.

"It was emotional because I have been working with them for 10 years and I love all of them. We have a good relationship and I will miss all of them.

"I could not imagine when I came here, to win so many titles and the way we won it,' the World Cup winner added.

"I will miss everything. To work every day with these amazing people, who work at the club, and they have made my life much easier."

Will David Silva go down as one of the greatest to ever play in the Premier League?
