Ronald Koeman has pinpointed a player leaking his decisions at Barcelona, allegedly calling them out in front of the entire dressing room.

The former Everton manager reportedly identified academy graduate Riqui Puig as the man who has leaked to the media, telling the 21-year-old, "You are a leaker", in front of the whole squad.

According to Spanish publication El Pais, the youngster told the media that he had been told by the coach to leave the club on loan.

This led to Koeman labelling him a leaker before the Joan Gamper Trophy match with Elche, a friendly match that Barcelona play before the season starts every year to celebrate their former player.

Puig has since made just four appearances in all competitions, all from the bench, despite fans believing he should be given a chance - particularly after a good performance against Juventus is the Champions League recently.

Whether this is the best management tactic with a young player is to be seen, but Koeman has a history of not being afraid to speak his mind as a player and coach.

Famously as a 19-year-old at FC Groningen, ex-Newcastle United striker and teammate at the club Rob McDonald revealed to the BBC what happened when Koeman was told he couldn't eat mayonaise with his chips.

"Ronald took a couple of chips, slapped them in the mayonnaise and just as he was about to eat them, [manager] Verlangen said: 'Koeman! If you eat those, that's a 500 guilder fine!' Ronald stuffed them in his mouth and said: 'Make it a thousand.'"

His headstrong approach doesn't seem to be working so far at the Nou Camp, with Barcelona enduring a tough start to the campaign.

The club are ninth with 14 points after ten games, a full 12 behind leaders Atletico Madrid - albeit with a game in hand.
