Manchester United sold more shirts of women's stars Tobin Heath and Christen Press than any other player following their summer arrivals.

Heath and Press are both World Cup winners with United States women's national team and joined United on one-year deals.

Both signings were considered coups for the Red Devils and the Daily Mail have revealed both women have had a financial impact off the pitch.

In the three days following their arrival in September, sales of shirts 'Heath' and 'Press' on the back surpassed the numbers of established male stars such as Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba.

Heath took the number 77 upon her arrival and Press took the number 24 in tribute to basketball legend Kobe Bryant, who tragically died earlier this year.

They both made their debuts off the bench last weekend in a 3-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

It was a productive debut for Heath who registered an assist for Jane Ross in the second half.

32-year-old Heath expressed her delight at joining United and explained to their official website: "I know it is an ambition for this club to compete against the teams that have historically been around for longer and have a stronger history in the WSL.

"Coming in as a younger team and wanting to make a mark immediately in this league is important, and to build the team in the best way, and to be committed to the players, and the organisation, is critical.

"I came here to compete and to win. There is no other option in my DNA. I hope to bring glory to this club."

Meanwhile, Press said: "I'm really excited to be joining Manchester United this season. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to play for such an elite club and beyond ready to get back on the field.

"I feel blessed to have the opportunity to continue to strive to be my best and to compete for trophies this year. I look forward to this new challenge and I can't wait to start training with the team."
