Jadon Sancho has been finding it tough this season, and it has taken until the 14th Bundesliga match for him to hit the back of the net for Borussia Dortmund in the competition.

However, the England international didn't look low on confidence on Sunday, when he left a Wolfsburg defender on the floor with his quick feet before coolly finishing in the 91st minute to wrap up a 2-0 win for Dortmund.

Dortmund were defending in their own box when they won the ball back, but two passes later and Sancho was in on goal and able to finish off the slick counter attack.

Sancho also picked up the assist for Manuel Akanji's opener, putting Dortmund ahead in the 66th minute from his corner.

The three points were vital for the German side, who have endured a tough campaign to date. Lucien Favre was sacked from his manager role last month, and interim boss Edin Terzic has managed to turn things around slightly with three wins from four matches in charge since then.

This upturn in form has seen them move into fourth in the Bundesliga, six points behind leaders Red Bull Leipzig. That gap to the top may grow as Bayern Munich have a game in hand and are only one point behind Leipzig.

Sancho has been one of many Dortmund players to struggle this season, so much so that Manchester United are now reportedly happy that they missed out on his transfer in the summer.

He will now be hoping that he can build on this goal in the second half of the campaign, looking forward to the European Championships in the summer.
