Daley Blind collapsed on the pitch for the second time in a year while playing in a friendly for Ajax on Tuesday evening.

The Dutch side were taking on Hertha Berlin and Blind required medical attention after falling to the turf and yelling in pain during the second half.

Blind was diagnosed with heart muscle inflammation late last year after suffering from dizziness during Ajax's clash with Valencia in December.

He was substituted last night and manager Erik ten Haag explained that his subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator (S-ICD) went off.

"Daley Blind's ICD went off," he begun per Metro.

"He got subbed off straight away and he is feeling okay now, he is feeling fine. We will do research about this now."

The former Manchester United man was communicating with teammates as he left the field without needing assistance.

He will undergo further tests at hospital later on Wednesday morning.

Fans have reacted to the incident and they're hoping the defender does what is best for his health.

Blind is best known for his time in England and he spent four years at Old Trafford.

During that time, he won the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Europa League.

He returned to Ajax in 2018 and helped the club reach the Champions League semi-finals last year.
