Chivas goalkeeper Tono Rodriguez scored his first-ever goal in sublime fashion, giving his side a vital 3-1 victory over Veracruz.
Chivas were 2-1 up in the Liga MX clash back in November but Veracruz applied heavy pressure on Chivas' box in the game's dying moments.
With a corner going into Rodriguez's box, the Mexican plucked the cross out of the air, rushed to the edge of his box and hoofed the ball up the pitch as far as he could.

To the Veracruz back-line's dismay as well as opposing keeper Sebastian Jurado who had gone up for the cross, the ball dropped into the net as the delighted Chivas players celebrated.
What a way to score your first career goal. In those situations, the goalkeeper would be expected to hold on to the ball and waste time on the ground but instead, he saw a window to produce a career highlight and did just that.
Rodriguez was promoted to Chivas' first-team in the summer of 2012, a summer in which he also won Olympic gold with his national side.

Back in 2018, Juan Carlos scored an absolute screamer from 60 yards out for Spanish side SD Lugo.
Carlos had the vision to catch Sporting Gijon counterpart Diego Marino off his line with a weighted hit.

Apart from Rogerio Ceni and Jose Luis Chilavert banging goals in for fun, you don't normally see goalkeepers making a name for themselves in the goals department.

In the Premier League, the most recent goal scored by a goalkeeper was Asmir Begovic's effort for Stoke City against Southampton in 2013.
Interestingly, the official distance for the strike was 91.9m (301ft 6in), which earned the Bosnian a place in the Guinness World Records.
What do you think is the greatest ever goal scored by a goalkeeper?
