Arsenal have listed a goal from their professional esports team in their February Goal of the Month nominations.

Alex Garaud represents The Gunners in esports tournaments playing Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 and his strike is one of 11 goals nominated.

He finds himself listed alongside Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as well as women's star Danielle van de Donk.

The goal he scores is with Nicolas Pepe and it's a brilliant curling effort against FC Nantes in the eFootball.Pro league.

But many fans on YouTube are confused as to why a goal from Pro Evo has been listed for the award.

One comment reads: "Am I the only one wondering why they put a PES 2020 goal?"

While another also stated: These mans actually put a PES goal on here Jesus Christ."

And a third commented: "Lol its gone from tiki-taka goals to adding fifa rip off goals NICE ARSENAL."

His effort will be competing with Aubameyang's overhead kick against Olympiacos as well as the actual Nicolas Pepe netting vs Newcastle United.

The North London outfit are are one of 10 teams competing in the eFootball.Pro League alongside Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester United, Arsenal, Juventus, Celtic, Monaco, Schalke, Nantes and Boavista.

25-year-old Alex was signed up for Arsenal's team back in December alongside Christopher Maduro Morais and Emiliano Spinelli.

Morais told Arsenal.com: "It is a great honour to become an Arsenal player. As a lifelong supporter, this is something that I have dreamed of since I was a young boy and I am happy that years of work and sacrifice have paid off."

Do you think this is the strangest Goal of the Month nomination of all time?
