The 17-year-old has joined the German side from Birmingham City for a rumoured fee of £26 million, an all-time record for a 17-year-old.

Dortmund first teased his signing in the early hours of this morning, with Julian Brandt strumming the first chords of The Beatles' smash hit.

The England U-17 international will leave Birmingham on Wednesday after their final game of the season against Derby County.

"I'm incredibly excited to have joined one of Europe's biggest clubs," Bellingham explained.

"The direction they are heading in and how much they help to improve young players made it an easy decision for myself and my family.

"I can't thank Birmingham City enough for what they have done for me, not just this past year but since the age of seven. Once a blue always a blue."

Bellingham was reportedly on the radar of a host of top European clubs, including Manchester United.

The Red Devils even enlisted the help of former manager Sir Alex Ferguson to try and secure his signing.

Ferguson and former player Eric Cantona were present at Carrington when Bellingham paid a visit back in March according to The Athletic.

Despite this, Bellingham is believed to have been swayed by the rise of Jadon Sancho while plying his trade at Signal Iduna Park.
