MLS side Toronto FC attempted to pull off a 'pass penalty' against Thierry Henry's Montreal Impact side on Tuesday - but messed it up even more than the Frenchman.
Former Arsenal striker Henry and teammate Robert Pires hit the headlines back in 2005 for their botched skill against Manchester City.

The duo attempted to emulate Johan Cruyff and Jesper Olsen but Pires failed to make a pass, with City clearing their lines.
Fast forward 15 years later and Henry had to watch Alejandro Pozuelo tap the ball to Pablo Piatti who fired home inside the area.
Luckily for the Frenchman, referee Drew Fischer ruled the goal out as Piatti was inside the 'D' and encroaching on play.

Pozuelo had netted a penalty against Impact back on August 29 and wanted change up his technique.
Fans have reacted to the incident and they thought it was funnier than the commentator, who labelled the trick "a disgrace."

Toronto would rue their penalty blunder as Impact won the 'Canadian Classique' 1-0 thanks to Rudy Camacho's first-half effort.

It isn't the first time a team have messed up a penalty trying to be clever this season.
Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema found themselves in a similar situation against Villarreal back in July.
This time it was Benzema who was judged to have been encroaching and the penalty had to be retaken.
