It was one of the most hilarious post-match interviews ever.

On Emmanuel Adebayor's birthday, it's worth remembering the time he hilariously 'refused' to give Spurs teammate Christian Eriksen his Man of the Match reward.

Spurs had destroyed Sunderland 5-1 at White Hart Lane back in 2014 and the duo were drafted in for a chat with Sky Sports.

Having scored once and set up two goals, Eriksen was voted the Man of the Match and Adebayor was asked to do the honours - as often is the case.

However, given he had scored two himself, the Togolese forward refused to give it to his teammate in one of the most hilarious post-match interviews ever.

"No, I'm going to keep it for myself!" - obviously the former Manchester City striker was joking and he later gave the award to the Dane before asking Eriksen to give him more assists.

Despite the hilarity of this moment, it's safe to say Adebayor is most remembered for his celebration for City against former club Arsenal.

Adebayor ran the length of the Etihad Stadium to celebrate in front of raging Arsenal fans.

But some players clearly aren't bothered by individual awards.

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah went the opposite way when he was awarded Man of the Match in a game last season, instead insisting James Milner take the award.

The Egyptian international bagged a brilliant hat-trick against Bournemouth but refused to take the award. In his post-match interview with Sky Sports after the 4-0 win, he told his captain to keep the award to mark his 500th Premier League appearance.

It's always interesting to see which players are interested by individual awards.
