Reports emerged on Sunday which claim Keane is willing to step back into coaching with former side Celtic, who parted company with Neil Lennon last month.
The Irishman hasn't been a manager since 2011 and has since gone on to forge a career in punditry, appearing on Sky Sports.
He's struck up an unlikely friendship with Richards and the 32-year-old is ready to follow Keane to Scotland.
I've just packed my bags!!! :briefcase:

Richards said: "I've just packed my bags!!! Scotland here we come."
Both men have brought out the best of one another and fans would be on board with the duo working as managers together.
I'd have Micah just for the bants https://t.co/jJQS8MnqZ4

Keane joined Celtic as a player in December 2005 after controversially leaving Manchester United a month prior.
He spent half a season in Scotland and managed to win the League Cup before retiring in 2006.
The 49-year-old has turned down a chance to manage his boyhood club in previous years but now could be the perfect time to step in.
It's believed Celtic are happy with the current coaching set up and are looking for someone to lead them as a 'figurehead'.
Keane not coaching in a decade means he won't have pre-existing backroom staff to bring in with him.
A return to Parkhead means his main rival would be Rangers manager and former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard has helped Rangers to Scottish Premiership glory this season, ending Celtic's dominance.
Do you think Roy Keane would be a good pick for Celtic manager?
