Manchester City's players have been mocked for the double denim travelling outfit ahead of their game against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

City have flown out to Spain today and the squad have been pictured wearing bold double denim outfits provided by clothing manufacturer Dsquared2.

Pep Guardiola's men were likely hoping to travel to the Spanish capital in style and without much scrutiny.

But Twitter have ruthlessly reacted to the outfits and even Specsavers have got in on the act, leading to City deleting their official tweet.

The fashion brand have been partnered with City for the last four seasons and a statement on City's website reads:

"Dsquared2 and Manchester City share many important brand values. We both believe in the importance of attention to detail, providing the best experience and constantly challenging ourselves to be at the top of our game.

"Throughout the partnership, we will collaborate to highlight the best features of our brands and supporters, bringing the past, present and future together.

"We are all looking forward to working with Dsquared2 over the coming seasons and we know the players are very excited to begin wearing their new matchday uniforms."

City will be optimistic heading into the first leg of their last 16 tie with Zinedine Zidane's side.

'Los Blancos' haven't won in their last two games and have slipped behind Barcelona in La Liga.

Eden Hazard also went off with an injury in the weekend's defeat to Levante and could miss the rest of the season.

Who do you think will win the first leg at the Bernabeu?
