Harry Maguire Attempting To Dribble Through Chelsea's Team Has Fans Wondering How He Cost £80 Million

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire's attempt to play out from the back against Chelsea has got fans wondering how on earth he cost £80 million.

Chelsea defeated United 3-1 to advance to the FA Cup Final and end the Red Devils' unbeaten run at 19 games.

With the game slipping away in the 87th minute, Maguire tried to start a United attack on his own.

The 27-year-old attempted to dribble through midfield before being closed down by Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Maguire then dribbled into teammate Nemanja Matic before Jorginho tried his hand at hassling the former Leicester City man.

He then decided to try a cross field pass which landed perfectly for opposing defender Marcos Alonso.

It's likely the England international was attempting to make up for his own goal earlier in the half, which gave Chelsea a three goal advantage.

It was an evening to forget for United players at Wembley and one man in particular - David de Gea.

De Gea let Olivier Giroud's opener squirm thorough and then allowed Mason Mount's strike to bounce in off his wrists.

Despite the error, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisted he will stick by the Spaniard.

He told BBC Sport: "[David] knows he should save that one 100 times out of 100 but that's football for you.

"It is done. Move on. I know he is a mentally strong person and goalkeeper.

"We have been unbeaten for 19 games and both Sergio [Romero] and David [de Gea] have played really well in that run.

"We have kept clean sheets, and on Thursday night, he made some great saves against Crystal Palace.

I see where you're coming from and everyone is going to make headlines on David, but he knows he should have saved that one.

"I can't speak for his confidence but he is mentally very strong. Everyone has to perform and has a chance to stake a claim every time they play.

"It is hard for a keeper to make amends, apart from David making two or three fantastic saves."

Bruno Fernandes netted a penalty in the dying moments of the game to deny Chelsea a clean sheet.

The Blues will now take on Arsenal, who defeated Manchester City 2-0 in the other semi-final, on August 1st.
