Pep Guardiola told a Brazilian reporter his moustache was 'sexy' in one of the weirdest press conference exchanges you'll ever see.

Guardiola's Manchester City side travel to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon to take on Arsenal, knowing victory will see them go 13 points clear at the top.

The Spaniard was asked about Fernandinho's leadership in midfield, but he couldn't stop staring at Fred Caldeira.

A few seconds passed and Guardiola blurted out: "I like your moustache, Fred. You're so attractive and sexy."

Caldeira replied: "Thank you very much! I used to have a beard but now the lockdown happened and it's gone."

Fans have reacted to the brief chat and they think it's one of the weirdest exchanges of 2021 so far.

Caldeira saw himself compared to infamous drug dealer Pablo Escobar during the Champions League group stages last year, due to his moustache.

He spoke to Manchester United midfielder Fred who was told: "Someone said he looks like Escobar," before the 27-year-old smiled and rubbed his upper lip.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp also said: "Wow! Who is it, what's the movie about the Colombian drug dealer?" before being told about Escobar.

"A little bit yes! [Laughs] I've heard some things about moustaches but no we don't need to worry about that."
