Michael Ballack Ignores Semi-Naked Cabaret Show To Stream Chelsea’s Champions League Win On Phone

Michael Ballack Ignores Semi-Naked Cabaret Show To Stream Chelsea’s Champions League Win On Phone

Ex-Chelsea ace caught pulling off a classic streaming trick in Ibiza.

Former Chelsea midfielder wasn't distracted by a cabaret line-up of scantily clad dancers as he stayed laser focused on his phone, streaming the Champions League final live.

The retired German ace was in a nightclub in Ibiza on Saturday night and an Instagram video, shared by a friend on his table, showed him paying zero attention to the performers on stage. Instead Ballack watched Chelsea's 1-0 win over Manchester City play out his phone, propped up against a glass.

What a man. We've all been there (in a sense): agreeing to go to something then later agonisingly realising it clashes with the football. But Ballack was clearly not going to let that stop him.

The 44-year-old was rewarded in style. Not only did he get to see his former club earn the victory under new manager Thomas Tuchel, but German international Kai Havertz snaffled the game's only goal just before half-time.

Sadly we don't get to see Ballack's reaction to that exact match-winning moment, so let's just assume he leapt to the stage of nightclub Lio, tore off his shirt and joined in the cabaret show himself.

Ballack spent four largely successful years at Chelsea from 2006 to 2010, winning every major domestic honour.

However the Champions League proved a source of heartbreak, as Ballack was part of the Blues side which lost on penalties to Manchester United in 2008. The midfielder already had a runners-up medal from his time at Bayer Leverkusen and - despite a decorated playing career - never did claim Europe's top club prize.

That cannot be said of Chelsea's current team, however, as they upset pre-match favourites Manchester City to score their third win over Pep Guardiola's side in a matter of months.

Many of Chelsea's European players now have a Euros to prepare for this summer.

Otherwise we're forced to assume they would be on their way to Ibiza right now to celebrate with Ballack, who saw in his former club's victory in unique style.
