Fredy Guarin 'Covered In Blood And Arrested After Assaulting His Father' In Shocking Footage

Fredy Guarin has been 'arrested by Colombian police' for allegedly assaulting his father and other family members.

Colombian newspaper El Pais per Daily Mail have reported the 34-year-old was confronted by police on Thursday afternoon.

A video circulating on social media appears to show the former Inter Milan man being dragged away by police with his clothing covered in blood.

It is yet to be confirmed if the blood was Guarin's or someone else involved in the incident.


Further footage on YouTube shows Guarin being restrained by police yet again while angrily telling onlookers to not film.

Semana state Colombian police have confirmed Guarin's arrest and claim the midfielder was 'under influence of substances' during his arrest.

A statement from Jorge Vargas reads per Infobae: "There was a call for domestic violence. When the police arrive at the scene, they find personal injuries inside a house where the son was starring [sic] in a fight against his parents.

"They acted very professionally, the parents asked for assistance so that this person was taken away and as the law says, this was done."

Commander of the Valle de Aburra Metropolitan Police, General Pablo Ferney Ruiz, has claimed Guarin attempted to attack doctors and nurses who tried to treat him.

He said: "There he had an inconsistent behavior and began verbally and physically attacking both the police officers and the medical staff and nurses.

Guarin hasn't been training with current club Millonarios over the last few days due to personal reasons.

The club are ready to stand by Guarin according to journalist Guillermo Arango per MARCA.

Colombia international Guarin made his name in Europe as a no-nonsense midfielder with Porto and Saint-Etienne.

.2012 earned him a move to Inter, with who he spent four years before joining Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua.
