Former Chelsea teammates Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba were on pundit duty for the Group H clash between Belgium and Tunisia - and hilarity ensued.

Not least because one of those forgotten names in football cropped up into the discussion. None other than Marko Marin, the former Blues player who now plays for Greek club Olympiacos.

So how did this gem get mentioned?

The BBC showed a feature on Kevin de Bruyne, the Manchester City playmaker who at Chelsea from 2012-2014.

Presenter Gary Lineker asked Lampard and Drogba just why the now world class midfielder was unable to make his mark at the west London side.

Lampard explained that it was because Chelsea had too much depth in his position at the time, before Drogba chipped in with a brilliant comment.

You can watch the video here:

"I don't think they missed it [De Bruyne's ability]," Lampard said. "The talent was there. We were there at the time and technically you could see everything he had.

"The problem he had was there was an embarrassment of riches for Chelsea."

The former England player then started to list the players who would've kept de Bruyne on the substitutes bench:

"They had Hazard, Oscar, Mata, Schürrle..." he said, before being interrupted by Drogba.

"Marko Marin," added the Phoenix Rising striker,, before Lampard to start to laugh.

Social media picked up on this, too.

In fairness to Marin, he played six games for the Blues and even scored a goal. But it was across four years - 2012 - 2016.

Maybe he's having better luck in Greece.
