A FIFA 22 player has exposed ten controversial ratings ahead of EA Sports' new title launching on October 1.

Last week saw the publisher drop their top players in the entire game and as it does every year, it's caused controversy.

Some of the ratings are baffling and one Twitter user has decided to break them all down in a comprehensive list.

@FUT22News decided to go to town on a few of the biggest players in the game and he's not wrong at all.

Topping the list is Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood who is just 78-rated.

The 19-year-old has scored three league goals this season, after bagging 12 in all competitions last campaign.

It isn't enough to boost his rating at all however despite United also finishing second in the Premier League.

Mohamed Salah has been a victim of Liverpool's poor defence of their Premier League crown.

The Egyptian netted 22 times as the Reds finished third, but he's still been given a downgrade.

Cristiano Ronaldo also suffered a downgrade and he's no longer the second-best player on the game, now behind Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi.

Fabinho is another Liverpool star to drop in overall rating while teammate Thiago Alcantara has managed to get an upgrade.

He's got an overall rating of 89 - down one from FIFA 21, with the star man also boasting some pretty tasty specific ratings.

Virgil van Dijk's down to an 89 and his pace has been hit hardest.

Equipped with a modest 78-rated pace which is LESS than former Real Madrid hardman and current Porto defender Pepe.

The veteran Portuguese defender has been handed a pace rating of - wait for it - 80?!

That's two points faster than van Dijk.

So, Pepe has seen his pace increase by 14 (!!) from FIFA 21.

FIFA 22 launches October 1 on PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4 and Xbox One.

The game will be available September 27 for those who choose to pre-order the Ultimate Edition.
