Japanese football fans were ejected from RB Leipzig vs Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday due to coronavirus fears.

One fan managed to enter the Red Bull Arena without any problems but explained on social media that he ran into issues once in the ground.

A security guard allegedly approached the man and told him he could be carrying coronavirus and ejected him from the stadium.

Another fan also tweeted about the incident.

The above tweet reads:

"Due to Corona, Japanese group guests were evacuated in the Bundesliga game 15 minutes after the start.

"On the way home, a security German told me 'I'm sorry."

"It's not anyone's fault...

"But leaving the stadium in the enthusiasm of cheer is too sad.."

Per RB Live, up to 20 fans were taken out of the stadium by security.

Leipzig have since taken to Twitter to apologise for the incident and have stated they want to 'make up for what happened'.

On the pitch, the game ended 1-1 and Leipzig slipped further behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga title race.

Leverkusen took the lead through Leon Bailey just before the half hour mark but Patrik Schick leveled just minutes later.

The coronavirus has caused chaos in the sporting world and football has seen some of the biggest impacts.

Serie A have had multiple games cancelled over the last two weekends as well as having to play games behind closed doors.

English football could also be halted and prevent Liverpool becoming Premier League champions if the virus spreads.

'The Reds' are 22 points clear at the top of the table but it could all be for nothing.

The Telegraph says that Jurgen Klopp's side would not 'be guaranteed' to win the title if the season ended early because of the outbreak.

There is no specific regulation to what happens if a 38 game season is cut short meaning it could also save the three clubs in the relegation zone.
