Erling Haaland has terrorised defences over the last couple of seasons, announcing his arrival on the European football scene with an incredible goalscoring record.

This season alone, the 20-year-old ten goals in eight Bundesliga appearances, as well as six in four Champions League games.

Having taken to professional football like a duck to water, Haaland might be forgiven for thinking it's too easy and not rating the defenders he faces.

However, this isn't the case, with the striker naming who he believes to be the best centre-backs in the world to Norwegian press.

Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Napoli fans will all be pleased to hear his answer.

Haaland said: "I think the best three central defenders in the world are Sergio Ramos, Virgil van Dijk and Kalidou Koulibaly. All three are very physical, but also very intelligent on the pitch."

Interestingly, none of the trio play in the Bundesliga with Haaland, where the Norwegian has been performing his incredible feats of goalscoring - it could be that he doesn't rate them so highly after soring against them every week.

Haaland also had some kind words for Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. His countryman was manager at Molde when Haaland signed for the club, and the forward has been linked with a transfer to Old Trafford since Solskjaer moved on to the Premier League.

Asked which footballers he followed as a kid, Haaland said: "As a child, I watched John Carew a lot, I also followed Solskjaer and John Arne Riise."

Haaland is one of the most sought after players in Europe right now, however interested parties might have to wait 18 months with his transfer release clause not active until June 2022 according to reports.

Chelsea are the latest side linked with the Dortmund forward, with Frank Lampard reportedly making him his top target.
