Dominic Calvert-Lewin's goal deep into stoppage time - with Everton goalkeeper Robin Olsen up for a free-kick - gave the visitors a dramatic 3-3 draw against Manchester United.

The game simply had it all. But it ended in crushing disappointment for the Old Trafford outfit - and many will be pointing the finger at David de Gea for not being forceful enough for Everton's last attack, bundled home by Calvert-Lewin.

Manchester United led 2-0 at half-time and 3-2 going into injury time, but Everton came away with a point.

The home side took a 2-0 lead when Edinson Cavani nodded home Marcus Rashford's teasing cross, then Bruno Fernandes channelled his inner Eric Cantona by beating Olsen with a dipping, swerving shot from outside the area.

They controlled large parts of the first half, though Everton were wasteful and Paul Pogba went off injured.

However Everton came out all guns blazing in the second half.

Calvert-Lewin's shot was softly parried by De Gea right into the path of Abdoulaye Doucoure to score - before James Rodriguez sensationally fired home less than three minutes later.

Six minutes after half-time and Everton were level at 2-2, De Gea had made an error and United had gone from total control to all at sea.

However this incredible game swung back the way of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side with 20 minutes to go.

Luke Shaw's whipped cross into the box was met by a looping Scott McTominay header, as he flicked the ball towards goal.

Olsen made a hash of the save, appearing to pull his arms back and actually shrink to a smaller size than his 6ft 5in. Critics might say it had a hint of Jordan Pickford about it, so maybe there's just something in the Everton keeper shirt.

But this absolute barnstormer of a game was not done. Just when United looked set for a 3-2 victory, Calvert-Lewin bundled the ball into the goal to give Everton a 3-3 draw and leave Man United heartbroken.
