Aston Villa have snatched a late victory against Manchester United after Bruno Fernandes skied a penalty in added time.

United welcomed Villa to Old Trafford for an early kick-off looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

Injury to Luke Shaw in the first half and Harry Maguire in the second left them depleted at the back and it cost them.

Kortney Hause scored in the 88th minute to seemingly secure victory for Villa.

However, the defender then gave away a penalty at the other end after handling an Aaron Wan-Bissaka cross.

Fernandes stepped up to take the penalty and sent it high into the stands.

Cristiano Ronaldo will probably want to be on penalty duties from now on, despite Fernandes' usually top record.

It's United's first league defeat of the season and their third in four games.

Wednesday saw them eliminated from the Carabao Cup at the hands of West Ham United after making a number of changes.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer addressed the decision prior to kick-off and explained: "Early kick-offs... It's hard when you play Wednesday night. That's part of the reason we did what we did on Wednesday night."
