Barcelona have trolled Juventus on Twitter after Lionel Messi scored a penalty in a 2-0 win over the Italian side in the Champions League.

Barca pretty much dominated the contest throughout as Ousmane Dembele got an early goal via a wicked deflection.

It was Messi who provided a wonderful cross-field ball for the Frenchman to finish.

Messi then made it two in the dying moments with a perfectly placed penalty.

And Barca couldn't help but troll Juve about the result - and the fact Messi had scored.

They tweeted: "We are glad you were able to see the GOAT on your pitch, @juventusfcen!"

The tweet is, of course, in reference to his decade-long rivalry with Juve star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Tonight was supposed to be the first time the two legends have faced each other since 2018, when Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus.

But Ronaldo tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time in a matter of weeks, dumping him out the match day squad in the process.

Messi therefore got to strut his stuff without having to worry about out-performing his forever foe.

Ronaldo revealed to fans on Instagram earlier today that he was feeling well despite the positive test.

"Feeling good and healthy! Forza Juve!" He captioned the picture with.

But Ronaldo also criticised his coronavirus swab test by writing: "PCR IS BULLS***."

Barca's game with Juve was relatively straight forward but there were numerous times where the away side thought they'd been pegged back.

Alvaro Morata scored an unprecedented hat-trick of offside goals, with one of them ruled out by VAR.

But Messi's magic was enough for the Catalan side to storm to the top of their Champions League group.

Barcelona next host Russian side Dynamo Kiev in their group while Juventus take on Ferencvaros in Hungry,

Messi's men sit top of Group G with six points and Juve sit second with three points to their names, having beaten Kiev last week.
