It's an interesting choice.

Arsene Wenger shocked the footballing world with his announcement that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

But you know what news is like - it tends to become old in just a matter of minutes.

And so now the attention has turned to who could be Wenger's successor at Arsenal. It's been a widely discussed topic, and not just today. For a long while - for about the same time as the whole Wenger Out campaign began in fairness - the debate of who will eventually take over as boss at Arsenal has raged on.

So, we at SPORTbible have decided to test the water on this matter by running our own poll with the names linked to the job.

In two parts, we asked social media 'Who should be the next Arsenal manager?'

The results are interesting. It seems that there are one or two sentimental supporters out there.

Out of the two polls we ran, taking into account that the number of voters vary on each part, we found that the manager you would most like to see at the helm for the Gunners next season is former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira, who came first with 5353 votes.

In second and third place, it was a tight contest between the Arsenal's all-time leading goal-scorer, Thierry Henry, and also Carlo Ancelotti. However it was the Italian boss who nabbed the silver on 4835 votes, beating the Belgium assistant manager Henry by just 83 votes.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has done wonders with the Scottish side, but his name being linked to the prestigious managerial role at Arsenal has caused some upset among supporters. This is reflective in our findings, as the former Swansea boss only got 3029 of the vote.

Time will be focused largely on Wenger and his remaining games for now, but it's interesting to find that the supporters still want to keep hold of the Wenger legacy in some way by getting in New York City FC manager Vieira.
