Antonio Conte found out about Jose Mourinho's new job at Roma during an interview - with his priceless reaction to the news going viral.

It was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Mourinho would take over the Serie A side next season, just 15 days after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur.

Conte is currently the top dog in Serie A having led Inter Milan to their first Scudetto in over a decade this past weekend.

He was stopped for a chat on the streets of Milan before being told he'd be facing one of his former foes in the 2021/2022 campaign.

The Italian coach is told the news and asks "Did he sign, yeah?" before the reporter confirms it to him.

"It's great news for everybody, I wish him the best, except when he plays against Inter," Conte continued per Football Italia.

Both managers were in the Premier League together between 2016 and 2018, with Conte at Chelsea and Mourinho at Manchester United.

They had a frosty relationship and it came to a head when Mourinho accused Conte of 'humiliating' United after celebrating a 4-0 win in October 2016.

Mourinho stated per Sky Sports: "You don't celebrate like that at 4-0, you can do it at 1-0, otherwise it's humiliating for us."

It saw Conte hit back later that season by claiming he couldn't understand why Mourinho, the Chelsea manager before him, wasn't playing Victor Moses.

He explained: "I noticed his potential from the first days of the summer retreat.

"Moses has important qualities: technique, physical strength, the ability to cover 70 metres of the pitch. I find it incredible that someone like him has been overlooked."

Mourinho has been told he will be given 'significant power' when it comes to transfers with Roma, who currently sit 7th in Serie A.

"After meetings with the ownership and Tiago Pinto, I immediately understood the full extent of their ambitions for AS Roma," 'The Special One' told Roma's official website.

"It is the same ambition and drive that has always motivated me and together we want to build a winning project over the upcoming years.

"The incredible passion of the Roma fans convinced me to accept the job and I cannot wait to start next season."
