A poll held by France Football has revealed that 73% of France supporters do not want Paul Pogba to feature in the starting eleven at the World Cup.
The Manchester United midfielder was booed off the pitch by his nation's fans during France's 3-1 win over the Italy in a friendly game earlier this week. What tipped them over the edge might've been the midfielder's sliced shot from long-range that almost went out for a throw-in.
It's been a tough season for Pogba. He started brilliantly at the start of the season but then capitulated towards the end. A frustrating player, Pogba receives criticism for his lack of effort at times despite his overwhelmingly brilliant ability to control a game, Man United's 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at Old Trafford being a prime example.
But those spells have been too inconstant to label his world record-breaking £89.3 million move to Old Trafford a success.
And now it appears that his lacklustre performances have stretched to his national side, with FF's poll and the recent jeers at a game highlighting his fall from grace.
It must be said, however, that France have unbelievable depth to their side: N'Golo Kante, Blaise Matuidi, Steven N'Zonzi and Corentin Tolisso compete with the 25-year-old for a place in Les Bleus' star-studded midfield.
Pogba was one of France's best performers at the European Championships in 2016, with the host nation reaching the final, before outperforming and eventually losing to Portugal in extra time.
