10 Footballers Following In Their Famous Father’s Footsteps

Following the news that Wayne Rooney's son Kai has signed for Manchester United, we took a look at 10 other footballers who followed in their famous father's footsteps.

Kai, 11, was pictured alongside his dad and mum Coleen putting pen to paper on a contract at the Old Trafford club earlier this week.

Wayne played for United from 2004 until 2017 and is their all-time leading scorer with 253 goals from 559 appearances.

He wrote on Instagram: "Proud day. Kai signing for Man Utd. Keep up the hard work son."

Kai was also pictured holding up a United shirt with the No.10 on the back - the same number his dad wore.

Cristiano Ronaldo's son, Cristiano Junior, is also on the books of Juventus and there are plenty of other players looking to follow the example set by their dads by making their name in the sport.
