Wrexham AFC will be a part of FIFA 22, EA Sports have confirmed.

The National League side, now owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, will feature in the 'Rest of the World' category of the game, becoming the only non-league club to make the grade.

This was revealed by Ollie Bayliss, presenter of the BBC's Non- League Show on Three Counties Radio, on Twitter this afternoon.

"It's a shame they couldn't include the rest of the National League," one user replied.

"Favouritism because Deadpool owns them?" another asked.

"Seriously ridiculous that," a Notts County fan tweeted. "They used Barnet's, Stockport's and even Woking's grounds for their trailer but yet can't even add the league there in to the game."

There were 26 teams in the 'Rest of the World' category on FIFA 21. These included Greek giants Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, as well as Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv.

The oldest club in Wales, Wrexham dropped out of the Football League in 2008 and have fallen short in four Play-Off campaigns in the last 13 years.

Now managed by former Bolton Wanderers and Sunderland boss, The Red Dragons will look to be in the mix again this season.

"There is expectation at Wrexham every year since they've been in this division," Parkinson said, as quoted by The Guardian, ahead of his side's 2-2 draw with Solihull Moors on the opening day of the season. "That has built up more with the takeover and the publicity the club has got.

We've got to live with that expectancy and we've got to get a squad capable of dealing with it.

Are we the finished article yet? No. But I feel we are getting there and we are trying to build a strong squad to tackle the challenges that lie ahead of us."

Parkinson's men take on Woking tomorrow at The Racecourse Ground, where they'll aim to pick up their second win of the season.
