Conor McGregor Claims He's Richer Than Messi And Ronaldo After Embarrassing Baseball Pitch

Conor McGregor launched into a boastful rant following his less than impressive first pitch this week before a Chicago Cubs game.

The Notorious One's throw was compared to 50 Cent's tame effort when the rapper was bestowed with the same honour at a New York Mets game last year.

However, far from taking the jokes on the chin, Mcgregor instead proceeded to boast about his wealth, claiming to be placed higher on Forbes' rich list than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The rant is merely the latest in a string of headline-grabbing antics from the Irishman, who recently made the news after clashing with Machine Gun Kelly at the VMA's.

The UFC star was a special guest at Wrigley Field for the game between the Cubs and the Minnesota Twins.

As part of his duties as a guest of honour, McGregor stepped up to throw the ceremonial first pitch. His effort was wayward, missing the receiver by a mile, before almost hitting a member of the crowd.

Naturally, his pitiful effort was mocked online, with one Twitter user comparing the fighter's throw to that of 50 Cents - whose pitch was arguably much weaker.

This evidently got under McGregor's skin, who fired back with two videos on the subject.

"Picture to picture alone buries this. Mine, bar the accuracy, was the most powerful and fastest first pitch of any of these other athletes/ artist over the years. No comparison."

He continued: "Smoke them up and down that Forbes I do. Get Messi over. Smoked. Cris. Smoked. Federer. Doubled. All time Most Power!

"Put me in the Wrigley hall of fame for that rocket launch. Beside some of that nice red brick. Mahogany Oak Frame. Wimbledon lines in the grass.

"The great Wrigley Field reminds me of the grounds on my land in Ireland. Impeccable."

The 33-year-old finished off by adding: "Anyway back to the pitch. Venom. Composure. Balance!"
