Manchester United drafted in Sir Alex Ferguson and Eric Cantona to help wrap up a transfer deal worth over £25 million this summer. However, the reinforcements in the form of Cantona and Ferguson didn't seem to help.
Even though Sir Alex Ferguson retired from being the manager of Manchester United seven years ago after an incredible career, the Scotsman still tries to help his former team.
This comes after Ferguson, as well as his former talisman Eric Cantona, were asked to come to help secure the signing of Birmingham City wonderkid Jude Bellingham.

The Red Devils were in talks with Bellingham, with the supposed fee of £25 million being transferred to Birmingham. Bellingham and his father recently visited Carrington, United's training ground, to listen to United's proposal.
According to The Athletic, United made sure Ferguson and Cantona were both present to help add some prestige to the 17-year-old's visit.
Due to the trip, United were reportedly close to agreeing the deal with Birmingham to bring Bellingham to Manchester with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and chief negotiator Matt Judge leading the negotiations.
However, it seems that Bellingham will imitate Jadon Sancho and join Borussia Dortmund first, as he sees the German club as an easier squad to break into and receive the maximum amount of games to develop.

Sancho, however, could be on his way to United with most reports seeing the English winger joining the Red Devils for a fee around £120 million.
