Lionel Messi is known for his incredible record for Barcelona, however his records for the Argentina national team are just as good. A Twitter thread showed the incredible, yet underrated records Messi owns in regards to National tournaments.
To a lot of fans, Lionel Messi is seen as being an underachiever for the Argentina National Team. With three runners-up medals at the Copa America and another runners-up medal at the World Cup, Messi hasn't won anything for his National Team besides an Olympic Gold Medal in 2008 and the Under-20s World Cup in 2005.

However, some of the shortcoming can easily be attributed to the players around him, and this can be shown with the incredible stats that Messi owns in many of the national tournaments.
The Argentine legend owns some incredible stats including winning Best Player in a Copa America, World Cup, Olympics, and U20s World Cup. The records don't stop there either.
Including the most goal involvements at national tournaments ahead of Ronaldo Nazario, the most dribbles completed in World Cup history, and the only player to score in the World Cup in his teens, twenties, and thirties.
Messi's records don't just stem to his club and as we can see owns some of the most decorated records in regards to National Teams. Even though he has never won a World Cup and Copa America, you can't blame him for his lack of trying with his incredible play.
