A viral video showing 'another side' of Lionel Messi's 91 goal year in 2012 shows he was the GOAT all over the pitch.

Messi produced the greatest goalscoring year in football history and broke Gerd Muller's record of 85 which stood for 40 years.

It's understandable as to why many focus on that when discussing Messi that season, it's a remarkable feat.

What about the rest of his game though? Did he drop off? Not at all.

The Argentine maestro managed to remain Barcelona's key creator and one game against Valencia summed it up.

Messi scored four goals in a 5-1 victory but the reality is it should've been a much higher score.

He laid on a number of chances for his teammates and completely dominated the game in only ways he can.

Xavi managed to add a fifth in injury time meaning Messi ended the game with FOUR goals and an assist.

Many players would want to show off after that kind of performance. Not Messi.

Per The Guardian, he said post-match: "The team played an incredible game. The important part of the season is coming and we have to continue in this way."

A very modest reaction after running the show and 2012 would end with Messi registering 29 assists in 69 appearances.

Fans have reacted to the video and they believe Messi is the only man in world football to somehow be underrated after scoring 91 goals.

One commented: "He's so quick and explosive man. A nightmare to play against on the field."

Another added: People actually compare people to this guy... I seriously don't understand why."

A third stated: "People think THIS GUY couldn't do it in the Prem? Dfkm the man was a different class entirely."

While someone else said: "Watch this and educate yourself, played so deep yet scored 4 in the same game."

This season has seen Messi lead the Blaugrana once again and they could still be in with a shout of the La Liga title.

Ronald Koeman's side are four points behind current leaders Atletico Madrid.
