Paul Gascoigne Reveals Why He Touched Les Ferdinand's Penis Before England Games

There's nothing like a story from Gazza- they don't make them like him any more. Now the former England international has told one of his more bizarre stories, involving him, the national team and Les Ferdinand's member.

Ahh Euro 96, what heady days that summer gave us. The first international tournament I remember was in my own country and they got to the semi-finals only to be knocked out with glorious failure. Would they always be like this?

Of course they wouldn't, they'd end in much worse ways. The knockouts would become ever less glorious and ever more embarrassing until 2016's loss to Iceland really put the cherry on top of the miserable cake.

But 11 summers ago we got to enjoy Gazza, Shearer, Platt, Ince et al do their thing with Gazza's goal against Scotland being the highlight. And how exactly did he manage to score that goal? By touching up Les Ferdinand apparently.

Speaking at a charity event, via the Mirror, the former Spurs midfielder explained how Ferdinand helped him, "In the dressing room, Les Ferdinand, I swear down, when he took his clothes off, you should have seen the size of his f***ing c**k. He made mine look small.

"I went 'Les, Les please, please let me have one f***ing hold of that thing'. So he let me have a hold of it. And I went out played a blinder and scored, right. I thought 'f***ing brilliant'.

"So the next game at Wembley, 'Les get it out'.

"And every time we played for England Les went 'hurry up and get it over with Gazza'.

Footballers are known to have some weird superstitions but touching your friends Veinous Maximus might be taking things a little too far.

It's a good job Sir Les was okay with it and also that it was Gazza, no one else is getting away with that.

But for Euro 96 I'd forgive him anything!
