Real Madrid loanee Takefusa Kubo was given Man of the Match last night after a breathtaking cameo for newly promoted Mallorca.

The 18-year-old came on with just less than half an hour to go against Athletic Bilbao on Friday night.

The Japanese teen nearly proved to be the match winner for Vincente Moreno's side.

15 minutes into his home debut, the diminutive attacker used his pace and skill to get away from Yuri Berchiche.

The former PSG defender hacked down Kubo to give Mallorca a penalty.

However, Kubo's efforts were wasted as Abdon Prats failed to convert the spot-kick and the game ended goalless.

Check out the highlights below per YouTube user Zico7.

Despite this, the young midfielder can be encouraged by this performance after a relatively slow start to life in La Liga.

He signed for Real Madrid from FC Tokyo this summer and is a highly regarded talent in world football.

He featured for Real Madrid in a slew of friendlies throughout the summer and impressed.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane opted to leave him out of his La Liga squad due to the plethora of talent at his disposal.

Kubo opted to move to Mallorca rather than spend a season at Real Madrid Castilla.

The fact he is regularly featuring in La Liga is a testament to the talent Kubo possesses.

"I'm really placed to have made my Son Moix debut," Kubo said after the game, per AS.

"I feel a sense of admiration from the fans and am anxious to pay this back on the pitch. My team-mates and back-room staff are all now like a family".

Kubo has also been busy during the most recent international break.

He came on for Japan in their friendly against Paraguay and dazzled fans at the Kashima Soccer Stadium.

Japan ran out 2-0 winners over their South American opponents.

Real Madrid signed a variety of attacking options over the summer including Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic & Rodrygo.

Despite this, Kubo could be the one that ends up being a gem for Zidane's side in the future.
