Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has called Manchester City's overruled ban as a bad day for football. This comes after City's two-year ban from the UEFA Champions League was overruled.

Manchester City's ban from the UEFA Champions League for two years was overruled yesterday.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport found Manchester City innocent from their supposed crimes, mostly due to the UEFA's statute of limitations disregarding the majority of City's supposed actions.

With Manchester City now eligible to be in the Champions League again, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was asked about the overruling decision and had some thoughts about the situation.

Klopp told James Pearce:

"I am happy that City can play Champions League next year, if they had 10 or 12 less games to play next season I wouldn't see any chance for anyone else in the league."

However, even though Klopp seemed relieved about City not being able to sheerly focus on the domestic trophies, he said also that it was a bad day for football that City were able to 'get away with it'.

"But I don't think yesterday was a good day for football. FFP is a good idea. It is there for protecting teams and the competition so nobody overspends."

A bad thing to say when City were deemed innocent due to UEFA trying to prosecute them even though it went against their own set of rules created when FFP was set in place.
