Jose Mourinho revealed that his Ex-Boss at Manchester United, Ed Woodwards was one of the first people to congratulate him over his new job as Tottenham Manager.

The Special One became Manager of Tottenham on Wednesday, 20th of November and he revealed to Sky Sports yesterday that Woodward was one of the first people to contact him after he took the job.

Mourinho received hundreds of calls and messages after the news broke early Wednesday morning, however, United Directors Woodward and Richard Arnold were two of the first:

"Maybe I get the opportunity to apologise for not answering 500 [phone calls] of them that I couldn't answer. I have 700 but only had time to answer 200."

"But it was curious to see, from my last club, so many people showing me that respect, empathy and feeling. It was nice...All of them were special. The first one was from Richard Arnold. The third, fourth or fifth was Ed Woodward. And they were my bosses."

Woodward and Mourinho had a supposedly very rocky relationship throughout the Portuguese's tenure at Manchester United. With claims that both of them blocked transfers from one another.

With Mourinho reportedly blocking deals for Raphael Varane and Marco Verratti, and Woodward to have reportedly block deals for Ivan Perisic and not sanctioning a sale of Anthony Martial.

The new Tottenham Manager believes that he will have a good relationship with Tottenham's Daniel Levy:

"Yes, I think we will get on well...He explained to me the vision for the club and I embraced that. It was one of the most important reasons I accepted. So when I did that, it's a very good start."

Mourinho's first game as the new Tottenham Manager is at the London Stadium against West Ham United on Saturday, 23rd of November at 12:30PM.
