Jorge Mendes Is Working Hard On Deadline Day Deal That Would Take Anthony Martial Away From Manchester United

Deadline Day is heating up and it's no surprise that Jorge Mendes is in the thick of the action.

The Portuguese agent is rumoured to be engineering a move for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial away from Old Trafford to French giants PSG.

Martial, 25, has appeared in all of United's Premier League games so far this season but The Frenchman's future may be under threat following Cristiano Ronaldo's return to the club earlier today.

United have already started to move players out of the club to make room for Ronaldo, with winger Dan James expected to join Leeds United this afternoon for a fee of around £24 million.

With 55 goals in 177 appearances for The Red Devils, Martial could provide Mauricio Pochettino's men with the firepower they need, especially if they lose Kylian Mbappe, who is strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Former United star Dimitar Berbatov believes that Martial has fallen in Ole Gunnar Solskjær's attacking ranks following Ronaldo's arrival and says the likes of Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford have now usurped him.

"I think Greenwood is in a good position right now," Berbatov said in an interview with BetFair, as quoted byThe Manchester Evening News. "He's the future of the team for sure. He can only get better as long as he plays and I don't think his place is in question.

I actually think Martial is going to have a big question mark over his head and I'm probably more concerned about that.

Rashford is someone who is also born and bred in Manchester and I think he'll be fine and Cavani also has his place and that's why I'm curious to see how he (Ole Gunnar Solskjær) is going to rotate everyone."

Having scored four goals in his first four games for United back in 2015, according to a stunning debut strike against Liverpool, Martial could make an immediate impact at the Parc de Princes should Mendes manage to finalise the transfer.
