Jesse Lingard is reportedly in line to receive a new £130,000 a week deal from Manchester United.

Lingard, who came through the youth set-up at United, has become an important player in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side and the Norwegian is keen to tie him down according to The Sun.

The 26-year-old still has two years remaining on his current deal believed to be around £100,000 a week.

Lingard has been at United since he was seven so a new contract is not expected to be difficult to negotiate.

Lingard found himself a key figure in Manchester United's campaign under Solskjaer last season, with a highlight including a goal against Arsenal that saw Lingard dub the Emirates Stadium his 'dancefloor'.

Despite Solskjaer being a fan of the midfielder, United fans are not as fond of Lingard with supporters lambasting his social media activity after a disappointing season which saw the club come outside the top four.

One post that particularly angered United fans was a 0.012% Instagram post, which is the percentage of footballers that make it to Premier League level.

Now with the news of a new contract on the horizon, United fans have reacted on Twitter.

Lingard is currently in Portugal with the England squad, who face Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League third place play-off this afternoon.

Away from the international scene, United announced Daniel James as their first summer signing on Friday.

The 21-year-old has signed a five year deal with The Red Devils from Swansea City, with a fee believed to be around £15 million.

United are reportedly set for a summer overhaul this summer, with the Welsh winger being the first player Solskjaer has signed since his appointment as United manager in March.

Now with the rumours of Lingard's new deal, Solskjaer could be on his way to assembling a new look United attack.
