Thousands Of Fans Sign Petition To Redo FIFA 21 Ratings

Fans are furious at the baffling downgrades given to superstar players.

Thousands of angry FIFA fans have signed a petition demanding that EA Sports redo the rating for FIFA 21 - or else people will start to boycott the game.

The FIFA 21 ratings have caused an unusual amount of controversy this year, particularly around how low some of them are for several elite players.

Some of the major downgrades include Thiago Alcantra (from 87 in FIFA 20 to 85 now), Paul Pogba (down from 88 to 86) and Eden Hazard (dropping from 91 to 88). Confusingly, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also saw his rating drop to 87 despite a prolific 2019/20 season that finished with his brace to win the FA Cup final for Arsenal.

There's also been shock over some of the younger players in the game. For example Christian Pulisic, who after he bedded in at Chelsea started to look brilliant by the end of last season, being rated just 81 - with only a 70 for shooting.

You can understand why some fans are upset at what they view as EA's harshness or incompetence.

Yet an infuriated David Mariyasin took it a step further by setting up a petition, stating: "EA recently released the FIFA 21 ratings and so many of them have came out so inaccurate that it almost looks like everyone got downgraded and EA didn't watch any of the 2019-20 season.

"I would like them to get a redo, look over at these ratings and do a re-release before people end up not buying this game."

Several thousand have already signed the petition, with one person adding: "There is an obvious bias to partner clubs. Liverpool won a league and their ratings skyrocketed... Bayern won a treble but have terrible ratings."

Another petitioner commented: "f**k EA" - which if less specific in its complaint, is at least to the point.

We await to see if the petition goes over 10,000+ and EA crumble, hastily updating with every Bayern Munich player with a rating of 97. Or possibly not.
