England's number one goalkeeping spot has hit both the high and low points in the last two decades. At one point, most people would not have hesitated at the thought of putting one of England's outfield players in net to solve the problem.
Well, that's exactly what happened to Wayne Rooney in this classic Nike advert, with the former England international stepping up to the occasion.

Seeing a young Rooney is one thing, but watching Sir Alex Ferguson and Eric Cantona in the same advert completes the experience.
"If Wayne actually did this... Ferguson would have killed him," one commenter wrote.
Another said: "Too many United legends in one video."
Speaking of a young Rooney, it's hard to argue against how much of a promising talent he was, especially with some rare footage that emerged online of the former Manchester United star scoring an absolute stunner in his adolescent years.
