Throwback To When Wayne Rooney Bossed It As Manchester United's Goalkeeper In Nike Advert

England's number one goalkeeping spot has hit both the high and low points in the last two decades. At one point, most people would not have hesitated at the thought of putting one of England's outfield players in net to solve the problem.

It's one hell of a nostalgia trip, right?

Seeing a young Rooney is one thing, but watching Sir Alex Ferguson and Eric Cantona in the same advert completes the experience.

Speaking of a young Rooney, it's hard to argue against how much of a promising talent he was, especially with some rare footage that emerged online of the former Manchester United star scoring an absolute stunner in his adolescent years.

Last week marked the 14th anniversary of Wayne Rooney's memorable debut for the Red Devils, with him making an instant impact by scoring a hat-trick against Fenerbahçe in the Champions League.

The former Everton star plays for D.C. United now, but hey, there's still time to see him become a 'keeper.
