Fans React To Achraf Hakimi 'Pocketing' Jack Grealish During PSG's Champions League Win

The game at Parc Des Princes was defined by Messi's goal, and the resilience of the home side's defence.

Tuesday night's clash between PSG and Manchester City saw the home side emerge 2-0 winners, partially thanks to a moment of sheer brilliance from Lionel Messi.

However, for as much as the Argentine's goal will rightfully steal the headlines, another aspect of the match that got fans talking was the defensive solidity of Mauricio Pochettino's side.

One battle, in particular, caught the attention of many - that of Achraf Hakimi vs Jack Grealish. Both men arrived at their respective new clubs after big-money transfers this summer, carrying with them the burden of expectation.

On this occasion, it was the PSG Right-back who very much came out on top, much to the amusement of football Twitter.

City's new £100m man struggled on the left, due to a combination of astute defensive play by Hakimi, and bad refereeing decisions.

The 26-year-old was unable to get free of his marker for much of the game, leading to a second-half substitution, in which he was replaced by Phil Foden.

It was a tough night all-around for City, as an impressive defensive display from the hosts shut Pep Guardiola's men down at almost every turn.

For Grealish, the salt was rubbed into the wounds by Hakimi on social media, as the Moroccan wing-back added a less than flattering picture of the Brummie to his personal Instagram account.

City and Grealish will be hoping to get back to winning ways this weekend, although life doesn't get much easier for the Premier League champions, as they travel to Anfield to play Liverpool.

The two title rivals currently occupy first and second in the table, separated by a single point after six games.

With both clubs expected to still be in the hunt come May, neither can afford to drop points this weekend.
