Paul Pogba is a player who has always garnered a reaction.

Since his arrival at Manchester United in 2016, the Frenchman has won his fair share of trophies, including the World Cup this past summer with his nation.

Despite this, the 25-year-old is still heavily criticised for many aspects of his game, on and off the pitch.

Graeme Souness is Pogba's most frequent and infamous critic with the Sky Sports Studio being stunned into silence when the Scot praised him on a recent Super Sunday.

Now one of his former teammates has leapt to his defence and that teammate is Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swede, who had two stints with Pogba at The Red Devils as the pair won the Carabao Cup and Europa League, has launched a passionate defence of his former teammate.

Speaking to Four-Four-Two for their December issue, Zlatan said,

"They have to relax. They have to look at themselves, especially the ex-players, and ask themselves, 'What did I do when I played?' Because they were not much better - I played against them.

"Some were good; some were less good. Excuse my words, but they should all shut up and mind their own business. They get paid to talk, they get paid to get attention, but you have to talk with facts."

Zlatan managed to score 17 goals in 28 appearances over two spells in Manchester as well as score the winner in the Carabao Cup Final vs Southampton at Wembley.

Pogba and Zlatan formed a tremendous partnership while the pair played together at Old Trafford, so it comes as no surprise that the LA Galaxy forward has defended Pogba.
