'Are You Professional?- Sheriff Tiraspol Players Questioned By Spanish Media After Beating Real Madrid

What an awful thing to ask after the Moldovan champions produced one of the greatest upsets in Champions League history.

Sheriff Tiraspol players were asked whether they were professional or part-time players by the Spanish press after their stunning victory against Real Madrid in the Champions League last night.

Goals from Jasurbek Yakhshiboev and Sébastien Thill secured the Moldovan side a famous win at the Santiago Bernabéu but instead of allowing the victors to celebrate, reporters from El Chiringuito TV questioned the players' professionalism.

This clip shows defender Gustavo Dulanto, who was imperious throughout the 90 minutes, being asked whether 'all members of the squad only play football' and whether they 'work in something else'.

These questions are made even more remarkable by the fact that Sheriff had won their previous match in the competition, a home tie with Shakhtar Donetsk, and are very likely to qualify for the next stage.

Whilst Dulanto was able to give an answer, Carlo Ancelotti and his Real Madrid players were pretty speechless after the shock defeat.

"I'm a little sad as I think we deserved to win," the Italian remarked, as quoted by The Evening Standard. "You could say we had bad luck, we lost the game on the small details. They scored their goals on the counter attack and from a throw-in. We had a lot of shots at goal but sometimes luck deserts you in games.

"Everything went well for them. Everything went wrong for us."

"We had so many shots," defensive midfielder Casemiro added. "Their goalkeeper made a lot of saves and I think you have to congratulate them for scoring two goals.

"We were in control of the game, had many chances and then they score a wonder goal."

Next up for Los Blancos in the Champions League is a trip to Ukraine, where they must pick up some points to get their push for a 14th European crown back on track.
