SG's Ángel Di María has recalled an incredible bust-up which took place during his time at Real Madrid between manager Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Di María joined the Spanish giants in the summer of 2010 from Benfica, a month after Mourinho had took charge of the team and a year since Ronaldo had made his record-breaking transfer from Manchester United.

It was an interesting debut season for Di María and Mourinho. Whilst Madrid did lift the Copa del Rey, they finished four points off Barcelona at the top of La Liga and were knocked out of the Champions League by their great rivals at the Quarter Final stage.

And although things did improve in their second season, with Los Blancos winning their first title in four years, it was never plain sailing at The Bernabéu, with Mourinho involved in a string of controversial incidents, both on and off the touchline.

Speaking to Libero, Di María revealed how things fell apart during his third season at the club and detailed an extraordinary clash between Mourinho and Ronaldo.

"Mourinho is insane," Di María said, as quoted by The Daily Mirror. "With me, he was always a good guy.

He fought with anyone though, he didn't give a f***. One time he fought with Ronaldo telling him he didn't run, that everyone ran for him."

Mourinho left Real Madrid in 2013, with Di María following suit just a year later. However, the Argentinian has recalled how Ronaldo tried to keep him at the club.

"I invited Cristiano to my first birthday in Madrid and thought he wouldn't show up," Di María continued. "He came and drank beer with my friends like it was nothing.

Ronaldo and a few more fought for me to stay in the club but with that little guy (Florentino Pérez) running things there, it was a little bit difficult."

In the 8 years since Di María left the Spanish capital, he has plied his trade at some of the biggest clubs in the world. These include Manchester United, where he had an indifferent spell between 2014 and 2015, and Paris St- Germain, where he has made over 170 appearances.

The same can be said of Mourinho and Ronaldo, with the former currently enjoying a fantastic start to life at Roma after indifferent spells at Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham, the latter is back at his spiritual home, Old Trafford, after spending three years in Italy with Juventus.
